You’re doing so well! And ahhh congratulations— the time you’re living in while a lot and intense is just so special too and you’ll look back with a mix of nostalgia and pride one day 💙
I’ve always found the “all birth is brith” discourse a little odd. Out of my three children, two were born via c-section. In my mind, these two were born, but it’s surgery! I don’t have a problem admitting that and it doesn’t detract from my own experience.
Love that you pointed out that disclaimers don’t accomplish anything anyway. It’s so true. It’s mostly just social pressure to virtue signal, really. How great would it be if we could all just actually be virtuous instead of making sure people on the Internet think we are?
Also, I love this quote—“Life is so much more enjoyable when you live it as though you’ve already been cancelled.” Though she (Africa B) is talking about speaking on hard/controversial topics vs personal sharing, I think it still applies.
Thank you for this!! A great read and a perspective I’d like to carry with me as a new FTM in the world.
